Finally!

Altered Art Attic Etsy is officially open! These are the first two items listed. As soon as I saw these I knew someone was going to want to alter them. Probably much like the way Tim Holtz did here. They are made of a very light wood and are hand carved and painted with a very light paint. Kind of reminds me of a milk paint. They stand 4 1/2" tall and are 7" long.

I'm Still Here!

And I have lots of items to list but...I am waiting a few more days. I am taking this a step further and adding PayPal so you can feel completely confident using their secure payment system.

Another hold up was the fact that we welcomed a new grand son into the world a few weeks ago and had our 4 year old grand son, Mason in the hospital for a week. He has what is called a "Potts Puffy Tumor" that is actually quite a rare thing. It's not cancer but is called a tumor for some reason. They had to drill a hole in his head and place a drain tube. He is now home and having I.V. antibiotics administered through a PICC Line by mom and dad. The best news is that he is going to be just fine!

So, keep watching! I'll have lots of fun things for you to look at!

I know, I'm a little slow! If you want to purchase something using Paypal my husband, The Peddler has a Paypal account. I haven't gotten around to that yet, but I'm working on it. Just let me know and I'll get you the info for his account!

These cream colored flowers measure approx. 1 inch around and stand about 1/2" tall. They feel like they are made from a very thin Styrofoam. I have a bunch of them so let me know how many you want!

Just A Few Of The Treasures We Came Back With...
Sold!! Thanks Joanne!

This is a machinists toolbox that was probably made in the 20's.

But we all know that's not what it will be used for now. Can you imagine the treasures that can be stored in here? It is handmade from golden oak. Closed it measures 12 3/4" tall, 8" wide, and 19" long. The wood is dovetailed along the bottom left and right of the the box.

The lid opens up and has a mirror which is original to the box. Maybe the machinist needed to make sure he looked good!

There are 4 drawers that measure 8 1/4" wide, 6 1/4" long, and 3/4 " deep. There is one drawer that is 8 1/4" wide, 6 1/4" long, and 2 1/2" deep. The next drawer is 18" wide, 6 1/4" long and 3/4" deep. The bottom drawer is 18" wide, 6 1/4" long, and 2 1/2" deep.
They all have metal bottoms.

Now we're getting to my favorite part, the hardware. Every corner has this cool metal corner on it. There are four metal latches and every drawer has a metal drawer pull.

And my absolute favorite are the two metal hinges on the back. Don't they look like fleur de lis?

Remember, this box is old but for it's age I think it is in great shape! The wood and metal have the best patina! Now for what's wrong with the box. It is missing the front cover that hides the drawers . That's it!

$125.00
plus actual shipping cost or available for local pick up.

This is a vintage rubber alphabet stamp set. It has upper and lower case letters, numbers, the words "For, And", the pointing hand, $, +, -, x,=, %, &, ?, ., comma, 1/2. The upper case letters stand 1" tall, lower case stand 1/2" tall, numbers stand just under 1" tall, the words are in script writing, and the hand is big, almost 2" long! It comes with a ink bottle. The ink is all dried up. Now for the fine print. The upper case "A" is missing. The lower case "z" is missing. Naturally the red rubber is a little dry but I stamped a few of them and they work just fine. These are used, vintage, and cool!

$25
plus actual shipping cost or available for local pick up.

Click on the photos to enlarge them and please ask any questions you may have. I try to describe these items as best I can but you never know what I may forget!

Another Unique Peddler Find ~Update SOLD!!

Awesome Oak storage box. Reminds me of a filing cabinet drawer. Love the yardstick used on the sides of the drawer. I wonder if this was used by a crafter to begin with and they needed handy measuring guides? I would have thought it was homemade but it has a Weis decal on it and was made in Monroe, Michigan. Weis was in business from 1912 until 1964 so it's at least "vintage".
The box measures 10" x 15" and stands 7 3/4" tall. The drawer is 8 1/4" wide.

Can you use it in your craft room, or anywhere else for that matter?

And, in case you're wondering, of course I want to keep it but The Peddler won't let me. I'll only pout for a little while.

$35+ actual shipping or local pick up

More Ideas

If you're like me sometimes I need more visual ideas in order to decide what to do with a product. I chose to use this textured netting in a more vintage primitive way. Here's another spin on how to use it on a 12 x 12 layout using other elegant/fancy embellishments. These layouts were done by my good friend Stacey at Greatdaneger Designs and they are listed on her e-bay page. So take a look and let your creative mind go!

What Exactly Is This Stuff?

Good question! It's used for environmental purposes like holding dirt in place. It looks a lot like jute but it is so much more! First of all it's already woven for you. It's much more fibrous and loose. (does that sound right?). The deal is you have to buy it by the roll and when I say roll I mean a full on heavy roll. This place doesn't mess around selling it by the foot or yard.

So, if you're interested in some of your very own fibrous love this is what I will do. I'm going to share the love in 12" x 46" pieces for $5.99 or 12" x 12" pieces for $2.49. It's light weight in small pieces like that so the shipping won't be much.

Just let me know if you need your very own piece of my new found fav texture!

The Birth of Spring

Here are some more bits and pieces of the tease I left yesterday regarding texture. See the mesh underneath the flowers? I am over the top in love with this stuff! It's so fibrous (is that a word?) and textural (?) and not perfect, nor asymmetrical in any way shape or form! So how could I not love it? I love it so much I used it in this collage.

Here's a close up of the detail in the frame. Pretty!

And yes, these are real bird eggs. We find them every spring on the ground. Sad that they can't grow up and eat at my bird feeder, but they are
serving a beautiful purpose, aren't they?

Here's the whole collage in it's antique frame. It has convex glass so it is really hard to get a really good picture of it. If you have a secret for taking a good photo under glass will you share?

Here it is unframed. Much prettier framed but that darn glass. If you know how to get a good photo of something under glass please share!

I've asked some of questions in this post. I want feedback!!! So, please leave a comment. I have never put anything I have ever made out there for anyone but close friends to see much less sell it. I think The Peddler finally knows why I have been hoarding for all of these years. This particular frame has been under our bed for a long time. I knew some day I would drag it out, clean it up, and do something with it!

$145.00 plus actual shipping cost. Thanks for looking!

Do You Love Texture Like I Do?

Then wait until you see what I have for you tomorrow! This is texture at it's best.
